Gazing down the corridor at two rows of her neighbors' closed doors, she remembers with irritation that none of them speak English, and her own Hebrew is almost nonexistent. She lurches back into her apartment, boots up her computer and quickly types a letter to her English language e-mail group in Israel, asking for the phone number of an English-speaking plumber. She writes the words "Help! Plumber?" in the subject line of her letter. grabs her mouse and clicks "send." Within 10 minutes, her mailbox fills up with the names and phone numbers of several English speaking plumbers, along with letters from two of the plumbers themselves.

Saban acknowledges Alabama needs to address off-field issues
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Off-the-field problems have been piling up for Alabama's football team. Two players were arrested in a span of six days, one player has been dismissed and linebacker Prince Hall has been indefinitely suspended. With spring practice approaching and a top-rated recruiting class recently wrapped up, coach Nick Saban still often finds himself dealing with Bama's bad behavior. "It's a problem. It is a problem," Saban said Tuesday at a news conference. "Our team needs to have better discipline, judgment. We cannot tolerate poor judgment." .

The station lost £58million last year as a lack of revenue from premium-rate competitions contributed to a 35 per cent slide in pre-tax profits. It reported profits of £188m - £100m down on 2006. The company said revenues from premium-rate services (PRS), including the discontinued ITV Play channel, were down by £58m. The figures also illustrate a huge drop in calls to phone-vote shows such as I'm A Celebrity..., which are suffering as a result of the channel's tarnished reputation.
