| Hip Bowling -- Despite the Clown Shoes
Fortunately, we were able to get a lane right away at AMF's 300 Atlanta, but that may be because we came a little early in the evening. The setting hinted at a relaxed, grown-up experience -- the 39-lane center bills itself as "a strikingly different entertainment venue with upscale decor and amenities." But despite such touches as soft leather benches and a bistro-style lane-side dining menu, we found the atmosphere more reminiscent of a noisy disco. The background music -- a mix of hip-hop and Top 40 -- was unbearably loud. The food and drink, from a "smokehouse" barbecue sandwich to a "big bowl" margarita, was mediocre at best. And service was pokey -- we had to ask for that margarita twice before it finally came. At least the bowling experience itself proved unparalleled, with clean rental shoes, perfectly oiled lanes and an excellent selection of balls.
The Joy of Commuting and Other Stuff
Why do weather Web sites list the current temperature and then right next to it say "feels like" another temp? And the numbers are usually very close. Do they do this so they can cover their butts if they are way off? Here's what AccuWeather has on its Web site for the temp in NYC right now: 44°F RealFeel® 38°F Weather.com 44 Feels like 39 Does a meterologist stand outside with a thermometer, get a reading and then look to a colleague and say, "I don't know. It says 49, but I really think it feels like 47. What do you think?" If only this scale applied to other situations in life. "Your coffee is $1.75." "But it feels like it should cost $1.57." "The scale says I weigh 143." "But I really feel 129" In case you're wondering, Weather.com says it's currently 77 degrees in Los Angeles and feels like...77! Hmmm.

Computer Model Developed For Osteoporosis Diagnostics
This method provides more meaningful results than pure density measurements (DXA). After two years we demonstrated a mean increase of 30% in bone strength." Another medication, already available on the market for some time and known as an ‘antiresorptive’, employs the strategy of preventing or delaying bone loss in osteoporosis patients. There are plans to continue these investigations by comparing the effect of ‘antiresorptives’ with that of ‘anabolic’ drugs in patients with glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Bucking the negative trend, TUI shares were 0.57 eur or 3.48 pct higher at 16.96, making it the top DAX gainer, as M&A speculation resurfaced on the back of a report in Die Welt newspaper, which said that a split of the group's tourism and shipping operations is becoming more likely. An upgrade at WestLB to 'buy' from 'hold' also supported the stock this morning. Deutsche Post shares were 0.56 eur or 2.57 pct higher at 22.36 after the mail carrier giant posted full-year figures which traders and analysts said held few surprises and disappointed on EBIT numbers. Enormous Jurassic Sea Predator, Pliosaur, Discovered In Norway
The 150 million year-old Jurassic fossil was discovered on the remote Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, at 78 degrees north latitude, approximately 1300 km (800 miles) from the North Pole. It was found in the summer of 2006 by a team of Norwegian paleontologists and volunteers from the University of Oslo Natural History Museum, led by Dr. Jørn Hurum. The fossil was excavated in the summer of 2007 and has until now been prepared and conserved by a team at the Natural History Museum in Oslo . A pliosaur is a type of plesiosaur, a group of extinct reptiles that lived in the world's oceans during the age of dinosaurs. Pliosaurs had a tear-drop shaped body and two sets of powerful paddles that it used to "fly" through the water. Their short neck supported a massive skull full of an impressive set of teeth.
