Coulier becomes 'Mr. Clean'

A priest, a rabbi and Dave Coulier walk into a club. And they all have a good time.No awkward moments, no red faces. Now that is Coulier's kind of place. The comedian who played Joey on the TVshow "Full House" swears it's possible to bring good, clean comedy to the masses.Or, rather, he doesn't swear.Ever. At least not on stage. He's created the CleanGuys of Comedy Tour, and one of its first stops is in Bismarck."We're just firing this up," Coulier said Tuesday from his home in the Los Angeles area. "We're promoting it as anyone can come and listen to this and walk away laughing. We've played some dates to test it out, and the response has been overwhelming."Coulier and comedians Ryan Hamilton and Heath Hyche will perform two shows March 1 at the Belle Mehus Auditorium downtown. He said this tour - not the 192 episodes of "Full House" or the four years hosting "America's Funniest People" on ABC - might be the pinnacle of his career."(They) were both top-20 shows that certainly brought me into the spotlight in front of America," Coulier said.

New Clinton ad: "Hillary's mom lives with her." But does her husband? Mickey's Assignment Desk: Has anybody updated Patrick Healy's May, 2006 story and calculated the number of days Bill Clinton has spent in Hillary's Washington, D.C. house in the past year (now that it's been officially designated as the place where you live when you live "with" Hillary)? If you're going to flaunt your home life then people are entitled to examine your home life. ... Assigned to: Healy. Hillaryland already hates him. He might as well take all the flak. ... 5:19 P.M.

Woomail Wants To Woo You Away from Spam

The recipient gets an e-mail saying, "I only read secure e-mail" and a link that takes the recipient to a reply page on the Woomail server , so that no part of the communication travels through cyberspace.

Putting Users in Control

John Halloran, a Puerto Rico-based precious-metals dealer, created Woomail after struggling with the huge amount of spam his brokers and office staff were dealing with. He said that his goal was to put users in charge of their communications, inbound and outbound.

"The problem was that anyone in the world can send you communication from anywhere, and I can't stop them from sending it to my servers," he said. "If I can get them to come to me by typing in a URL or Woo to Woo message, then I can control communications on my server and so I can prevent fraudulent use." (A "Woo to Woo" message is one in which both parties have Woomail accounts.) Sending a message from within the site cannot be done without a challenge-and-response question, putting the kibosh on automated spammers.

Nobles & Knaves

Shanon, a professor of "cognitive philosophy," told Israel Radio on Tuesday.

Someone please enroll Mr. Shanon in a research methods course. At minimum, show him that "I don't believe" is a poor evidentiary standard outside the Department of Smart-Alecky Term Papers.

For purporting to instruct others about Scripture while also failing the most basic rules of evidence, Mr. Shanon is the Knave of the Week.

FactCheck: why do we need ID cards?

More hard-hitting words from Blair's monthly press conference in August 2006, when he said that ID cards were "major, major issue for us and will be a major plank of the Labour Party's manifesto at the next election, and that is for a very simple reason, if people want to track illegal migration and organised crime in this country you have got to have identity cards".In February 2007, he emailed more than 27,000 who had signed a petition calling for ID cards to be scrapped as they would not prevent terrorism or crime, and would be yet another tax.Blair kicked off his response by saying that, although ID cards will not prevent all terrorist outrages, they would have an important role to play in making our borders more secure, countering fraud, and tackling international crime and terrorism.
