Here we go...
I know, this is a mortgage blog but it belongs to me and I can write about anything I choose and tonight, I just don't have much to say about the current mortgage market. I have an exam in two weeks and I've been studying all day. I didn't go to work, didn't go to the beach, didn't even get away from my desk for too long. Well, I went to buy groceries but that was about all. Anyway, I have this essay exam that I'm studying for and I think I'm going nuts or something. I'm beginning to think in terms of what I'm learning in economics. For instance, I'm a huge Diet Rockstar fan. It's an energy drink that has replaced water, coffee, tea or any other liquid I normally consume. On any given day I drink about four. There's a limit to the number of days that I can do this though. Here it is... The law of diminishing marginal utility usually kicks in around the fifth day of drinking four a day.
January 2008
My colleague Andy Revkin reported in December, at his Dot Earth blog, that the discoverers of the jawbone told him there was “no threat of outright extinction within a century or more" and that “this finding reinforces the idea that they can endure." More good news for the polar bears: sea ice extent has returned to "near normal" levels after last summer's "record" thaw, and the Northern Hemisphere has more snow cover right now than at any time in the last decade. Product Recalls
Two major fast-food chains, Jack-In-the-Box and In-N-Out, said they would not use beef from Westland/Hallmark. The recall affects beef products dating back to February 1, 2006. Most of the beef has been eaten and officials say it's unlikely the remaining beef is tainted. No illness has been reported, but it wasn't properly inspected and therefore is unfit for human consumption. For more information, go to http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usdahome BASSETTBABY CRIB RECALL Wendy Bellissimo cribs from Babies 'R' Us bought since November are being recalled. The spindles on the drop-side of the crib could come loose, leaving a gap that could potentially trap and strangle a child. The company is voluntarily recalling the cribs and no injuries have been reported.
ARI 1Q profit, revenue rises
ARI Network Services Inc. reported Monday that it recorded increases in both profit and revenue for the fiscal first quarter. ARI (OTCBB: ARIS) posted net income for the quarter ended Oct. 31 of $243,000, or 4 cents per share, compared with $225,000, or 3 cents per share, for the same period a year ago. Revenue for the Milwaukee provider of electronic parts catalogs and marketing services increased 21 percent to $4.2 million from $3.5 million. ARI chairman and CEO Brian Dearing said the marketing services business continued to drive revenue growth. About 45 percent of the revenue growth was because of the acquisition of OC-Net Inc., a Cypress, Calif. company that provides Web hosting and e-commerce services, in January 2007. .
Silk painting lures creative spirits to Westerly
She also teaches Watercolor 101 and a dream interpretation workshop that she says is popular. For silk painting, participants work on a 10-inch round piece of silk in a metal frame that they can use later as a sun catcher. For the workshop she uses silk paint but when she teaches classes in her Cumberland, R.I., studio, they work on 8- by 54-inch scarves using silk dye. The distinction Kline points out is that the paint sits on top of the surface while the dye permeates the fabric and is later heat set."The colors in fabric painting are so vibrant, the most vibrant medium I’ve ever used," says Kline. This workshop is ideal for someone who is thinking about silk painting. She says it is a great introduction. The silk is the canvas and using a "resist" the artist creates an outline and then applies the paint.
Six more locations eyed for Hawaii coffee chain
A prospective franchiser is in talks with Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii to open six locations in the Albuquerque area, a representative of the company confirmed. There is one New Mexico location, near the intersections of Highways 550 and 528 in Bernalillo, north of Albuquerque. The deal could be signed within 15 days, says the beverage firm's representative, Harold Hill, who heads up franchise sales for the chain. It costs an average of $226,000 to open a 1,500-square-foot shop in the U.S., according to the company's Web site. Drive-through windows add an additional $8,000 to that cost. .

I've always wanted to travel to everywhere so I could see everything. On my next vacation I'm going to England hopefully, or Vegas. I'd like to confess that I am way too outgoing for my own good. The most daring thing I've ever done is haha..presented daily. The one thing I've always wanted to own is a pet skunk named Jasper (de-stinked). When I meet someone who has tattoos that are nice I'm immediately attracted .
