Is Bush Stopped in His Tracks on Iran?

Bush and Cheney do not need a rational excuse for invading another country. Why are we in Iraq? Again, why are we in Iraq? More pertinent is: Will Halliburton and other private contractors make big money by invading Iran. Will invading Iran give the oil companies more control over Iranian oil or shipping routes? It's that simple. Blood for oil and money. Congress cannot stop Bush. No more than Hitler could have been stopped. The neo-cons and Israel (with its own little concentration camp of 1.4 million) are out of control. Ironic isn't it?

County running club thriving

Winter generally puts a damper on the running calendar, but the 2008 Xtreme Running Film Series got started on a snowy evening in February with Dancing the Bear, a film about two women at the Bear 100 Mile Endurance Run.

"I think it was an interesting and in some ways unique opportunity for runners to chat other than in a racing or training setting," said organizer Mike Casper.

The next film in the series, on March 19, is Without Limits, which tells the story of American running legend Steve Prefontaine.

Appalachian Outdoors is hosting the series at 123 S. Allen St., in State College. Viewers meet at the store at 7:50 p.m. and the film starts at 8 p.m.

The Tussey mOUnTaiNBACK 50 and the Nittany Valley Running Club are sponsoring the series, which is scheduled to run through June.

MTB News & Racing Round-up

The Multivan Merida Biking Team is about to kick off its competitive season. The focus is clearly on Norway's Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå, who had to quit racing last year in June for health reasons. Having recovered, the seven-time World champion and Athen's Olympic gold medal winner is back and ready to compete with the world's elite for the first time in Brescia.

Dahle Flesjå will be in Brescia for the first race of Italy's cross country series. Despite her long absence, many experts consider her as the odds-on favourite. At the same race, Austria's Robert Gehbauer, Dahle Flesjå's team-mate and former Junior World Champion is also scheduled to line up. On the other hand, Germany's Moritz Milatz will stay in Cyprus with his national team preparing for the season to come.

Score it as a dubious block

We all work hard and then, with one trade, the balance goes boom."), but he, like everyone else, is waiting to see what happens with the glacial O'Neal and the high-octane Suns. "They're not going to change the system and all of a sudden be rock 'em, sock 'em basketball," Popovich said. "They're going to figure out a way to slide Shaq in there just like they slid Kurt Thomas in there. It makes it tough for us in the sense that they have someone who can guard Timmy better."

Eastern play still pretty beastly

Remember all the preseason talk about how the Eastern Conference had narrowed the talent gap with the West? Oh well. At the All-Star break, the 23-30 New Jersey Nets would be the seventh seed in the East while the 32-20 Denver Nuggets would not make the playoffs in the West.

After 3 wins, Obama wins Maine, too

They will all remain fat and happy living on their Compounds while the rest of us are left to pick of the pieces of this wonderful Nation. But as Obama states "WE CAN" because we are AmeriCANS. This country will be better and greater then ever … as soon as Bush departs the White House and Barrack and Michelle move in.
